Coming from a large, blended family, Maddie (she/her) has been caring for children and family systems in various ways since she was a teenager. After earning her B.A. in Human Development and Family Science, she started work as a mental health counselor in the Northern Virginia school system, during which she ultimately found a love for serving families and applying her experience in mental health and family life in a more personal role. Maddie spent five years as a full-time nanny for children of various ages, and eventually she was inspired to pursue work as a birth and postpartum doula. Her passion for doula work comes from a desire to provide families with the critical emotional and physical support that is so often left out of our culture during birth and postpartum life. Maddie’s philosophy as a doula revolves around bringing warmth, compassion, honesty, and empowerment to the families she serves.
